Cyrix Healthcare Acquires Blue Star Engineerings MedTech Solutions to Expand Imaging Services
Kochi‑based Cyrix Healthcare announced on September 11, 2026 that it has acquired the MedTech Solutions business of Blue Star Engineering & Electronics Ltd, a Delhi‑based company. The deal, which took effect on September 1, 2026, brings Blue Star’s team of specialists—who have installed and maintained more than 250 CT and MRI scanners across India—into Cyrix’s fold.
Cyrix said the transaction is expected to boost its business by 30‑40 percent, although the financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition fits into the company’s broader strategy of building a comprehensive medical‑technology management platform that spans India, the Middle East and Africa.
Blue Star’s MedTech Solutions division has long supplied multi‑brand CT and MRI systems, handling everything from sales and clinical applications to installation, maintenance, repairs and equipment management. By adding this expertise, Cyrix will be able to offer a single‑partner solution that covers installation, maintenance, refurbishment and eventual replacement of imaging equipment.
Today, Cyrix manages more than 650,000 medical devices in over 25,000 healthcare facilities and employs more than 1,200 biomedical engineers and technical professionals. Its portfolio ranges from basic ECG machines to advanced CT and MRI systems. The company has been servicing Kerala government hospitals for nearly five years and also holds major engagements with state health systems in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
For hospitals, the immediate benefit is a more reliable maintenance schedule and quicker access to technical support for expensive imaging equipment. Prolonged downtime of CT or MRI scanners can delay diagnoses and impact patient care, so the expanded service network is expected to reduce such interruptions.
Cyrix also highlighted that the acquisition will strengthen its refurbished medical equipment business, AURUM, particularly in refurbished CT and MRI scanners. AURUM provides inspected, tested and certified refurbished units, giving hospitals a lower‑cost option for high‑end imaging equipment.
All existing Blue Star MedTech customers will continue to be supported by the same experienced teams, Cyrix said, ensuring continuity of service after the takeover.
