Infosys Names Ashiss Kumar Dash CEO Designate, Set to Succeed Salil Parekh in 2027
Dash has spent more than thirty years inside Infosys, rising to the role of global head of a portfolio that covers more than a dozen industry verticals—from services and utilities to resources, energy, and sustainability. In that position, he has steered customer‑facing businesses, delivery, and global operations across multiple regions. The board, acting on a recommendation from its Nomination and Remuneration Committee, highlighted Dash’s mix of strategic insight, commercial acumen, and technology‑delivery expertise as the key to guiding the company into an AI‑driven era.
Non‑executive chairman Nandan Nilekani explained that the board was looking for a leader capable of spearheading bold transformation while safeguarding Infosys’s core values and customer trust. He noted that Dash’s deep‑rooted experience and long‑standing dedication to the company position him well for the next chapter.
During Parekh’s two terms, Infosys experienced robust growth: revenue climbed from about $10 billion in 2018 to more than $20 billion in 2026, and the firm broadened its digital and AI capabilities. He also guided the company through high‑profile incidents, such as technical glitches on the Indian government’s income‑tax e‑filing portal and a sizable GST tax dispute that ultimately resolved in Infosys’s favor.
Under the transition plan, Parekh will stay on as CEO until 31 March 2027, collaborating closely with Dash to ensure a seamless handover. Dash has voiced excitement about steering Infosys into an AI‑driven service era, underscoring the firm’s solid AI strategy, talented workforce, and deep client relationships.
The leadership announcement coincided with Infosys’s first‑quarter results for fiscal year 2027. The company posted a 12 percent rise in profit, but its ADRs dipped after the board trimmed its guidance. Analysts said the leadership shift might sway investor sentiment, though the firm’s financial footing remains strong.
Dash earned his degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and has completed executive programs at Stanford University and London Business School. He also sits on the board of Infosys Public Services, Inc., a subsidiary dedicated to public‑sector technology solutions.
Currently, the main outstanding items are the shareholder vote that will ratify Dash’s appointment and the schedule for the formal handover of daily operations. No regulatory filings suggest additional obstacles, and Infosys has not disclosed further governance changes.
In short, Infosys is setting the stage for a leadership transition that will place Ashiss Kumar Dash at the helm in 2027 after Salil Parekh’s nine‑year stewardship. The change aligns with the firm’s broader plan to intensify its AI capabilities while preserving the values that have underpinned its growth. Over the coming months, the company will seek shareholder approval and lock down the transition details.
